“Polifonia” Counsellors
After completion of the Handbook for Internal Quality Assurance and the Handbook for Curriculum design and Curriculum Development, the Polifonia Tuning working group has created a pool of “Tuning/ECTS Counsellors for Higher Music Education Institutions”. These counsellors can be invited by institutions for professional music training to give advice on how to implement ECTS in a music curriculum, how to use learning outcomes and competences in curriculum design and curriculum development, how to develop internal quality assurance systems and any other theme connected with the Bologna process developments. The counsellor visits are meant as an instrument of assistance between one conservatoire and another within the AEC community.
Practicalities
A list of “Polifonia” counsellors can be obtained upon request. Experts from various European countries have been selected so that communication can take place in other languages than English. A “Polifonia” counselling visit should take app. 1 day (or two half days). Institutions asking for a “Polifonia” counselling visit are expected to inform the counsellors about the questions they would like to discuss beforehand. For this purpose the “Polifonia” Tuning working group has developed a questionnaire. The counsellors will either discuss the questionnaire with a contact person over the phone or ask someone in the institution to fill it in by e-mail. It is very important that the visit is well prepared from both sides in order to satisfy all involved. All costs regarding travel of the counsellors will be covered from the Erasmus Network for Music "Polifonia". Visited institutions are invited to cover local accommodation and subsistence costs; only in highly exceptional cases local accommodation and subsistence costs can be covered by the "Polifonia" budget. Only a limited number of visits (to 15 different institutions) can be offered during the project period from 1 October 2007 – 1 October 2010. Please note that only institutions in EU countries and Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Turkey are eligible for support from the "Polifonia" budget.
